University Branch AGM - Thursday 1st March 2012

UNISON members
You are invited to the Annual General Meeting of the UNISON University of Huddersfield Branch on 1st March 2012 in the student training restaurant in the Shorehead Building, top floor. This meeting is strictly MEMBERS ONLY. Lunch is served before the meeting, from 12.00pm, the Meeting will start at 12.30pm.

New members - here’s your chance to attend your first AGM.
This meeting is vitally important, not only for the running of your branch but for YOU to meet and elect YOUR Stewards & Officers, reflect over the last year and plan for the next.
FREE lunch! As always, if you give up your lunchtime to attend the meeting then we provide the lunch! (2 courses, hot lunch, provided by the Catering Students in their own training restaurant.)

Been before? Then you’ll know the usual format; great lunch; we’ll try as always to keep the business as succinct as possible. Come along and encourage your colleague members to come along as well!

Branch Officers & Stewards
Attached are nomination forms for our Branch Officers and Stewards who are elected at the meeting. This is an essential part of the AGM as the branch cannot run without people doing these important roles.

We need a Steward in each area – who is YOUR Steward?
If you haven’t got one, you need one – how about you?

Workplace Contact
If you don’t feel able to be a Steward, how about a Workplace Contact? They distribute information but do not represent members or negotiate with managers. Please see the 'join' page for application and other forms.

Staff Guidelines on the Use of Social Media

A new policy from Human Resources had been discussed and agreed by UNISON in June 2011 and is now on the local website. Please read through it if you use any social media to ensure you are not inadvertently breaching any University security or computing regulations. You can download it from the Human Resources website.
