When you print, your work is held in a queue.  You can then go to any printer within the area and, using the touch screen, release your work so that it prints as you watch.

To release the work either

How do I put print credits on my account?

It's really easy to buy printer credit, just simply follow the link and follow the on screen instructions - Buy print credit

Where/how does it print?

When you print from a computer in the Library, or from one of the computers in the 24hour rooms on floor 4 of Central Services Building, your work is held in a queue.  Once you've finished printing, go to the printer of your choice.

Printer/photocopiers are located in the print hubs on each floor of the Library and in the 24-hour computer rooms. All our devices can print and photocopy A4 and A3, in either mono or colour, and single-sided or duplex.

Follow this link for details of the Library print release/copy system.

Can I print from my laptop, or from home to collect later ?

Here at the University of Huddersfield we always try to improve our service so this is why we have Mobile Print service, which allows anybody with an active account to print from your own device whether you are on or off the campus and then visit the Library, or  the 24hour PC rooms in Central Services Building on floor 4, to actually release and print your work when convenient .  Please note that you must collect your printing within 12 hours as it will be removed from the queue after this time.

Why won't my document print?

  • Have you got credit?

  • Have you checked the paper size in both the page set up and also in the print properties?

  • Have you checked the printer to check for any paper?

How do I print from Internet browser?

If you cannot find a print icon, then there are a further two ways you can print from your browser:

  • Try looking at the Tools 'cog', which is at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Press the "Ctrl" and "P" keys on the keyboard which will bring the print properties dialogue box.

How do I print colour documents?

When you select print on Library  or CSB 24/7 computers, the default printer is set to "Black & white (mono) printing jobs on Lanzarote". This needs to be changed to "Colour printing jobs on lanzarote".  If you are printing to a printer elsewhere on campus, then please check with the local technicians to see if colour printing is available.

How do I print A3 documents?

All our printers will print both A4 and A3 in either mono or colour. Ensure that your document's page setup is set to the paper size you want to use.

How do I print onto acetate, card or specialist papers?

If you wish to print to any media other than the paper, you will need to visit the Library Helpdesk on Floor 4 of the Student Centre.
