3. Before you travel

Applying for your visa

Once you receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), you need to apply for your student visa.

When your visa has been granted, you must travel to the UK within 30 days and collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). You will choose your BRP collection point during your visa application, we recommend choosing Huddersfield Post Office.

Find help with applying for your visa on our immigration pages or you can contact our Immigration Team

Accommodation

You must arrange your accommodation before travelling to the UK.  Huddersfield has great housing options for students; book with our recommended and approved accommodation providers.

We strongly advise choosing accommodation in the Huddersfield area but if you choose to live outside of the town, ensure it is no more than one-hour public transport commute from the University.
