Our University is home to a wealth of world-class facilities and, whilst they’re important for our own research, we recognise that by opening up access to these we will be making a positive contribution to your success.
Many of the technologies we use, both in teaching and research, are at the cutting edge and many we have helped design and build in collaboration with our suppliers to push the limits of analysis. If you’re looking for the very latest equipment to use in your research and development, the chances are, we’ll have a technology or piece of equipment to suit your requirements.
New methods of analysis
We have an impressive array of instrumentation for the analysis of liquid and solid materials, from single atoms on the nanoscale right up to larger structural dynamics. Our equipment includes NMR, mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction and crystallography. Alongside this equipment we also have a range of sophisticated analytical software packages, as well as significant expertise in interpreting their results.
Enhance your in-house knowledge
Our specialist teams are on-hand whenever you use our facilities. They will help identify the best tool for your particular challenge and will take time to train your staff in its use. We have the potential to operate beyond the limits of off the shelf technologies and we like to work with our partners to ensure they’re accessing the facilities they need – even where these might be considered non-standard.
