Kathy was one of only thirty girls to be educated at a boys school, St Bede's Grammar School in Bradford and later became the first and only female President of the Old Boys' Association. She worked in the NHS for 15 years prior to completing a degree in Organisation Studies in 1993. Kathy joined the University of Huddersfield in 1994, and held various posts prior to taking up her current role as Head of Registry, in 2003.
She has recently completed the University Leading Edge Programme at the University of Southampton and is currently working towards a Masters in Higher Education Management. In addition she has worked on various national groups including projects for the Student Loans Company and around Teaching Quality Information.
The Head of Registry’s role is to manage the University's quality assurance, examinations and awards ceremony processes and Kathy is responsible for ensuring the University's regulations are upheld.
The highlight of the academic year for Kathy and her team of staff are the awards ceremonies when they see our students celebrate their achievements with their families and friends.
